The Bard's Birthplace

This is the house on Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, where Shakespeare was born in 1564. His father was an important man and even served as the High Bailiff (mayor) of Stratford before finanacial difficulties significantly lowered his profile in the town. Did Shakespeare echo his father's bitter disappointment with his fortune in life when he created such classic misanthropes as King Lear and Timon of Athens?
